We’re thrilled to share some exciting news with our community! Thanks to the generosity of a private donor, Oxford High School will soon have a brand-new football field! We’re excited about the positive impact this gift will have for students across multiple activities.
This incredible gift will cover the full cost of the field replacement, which means no district funds will be used for this project. The new turf will proudly remain our signature Wildcat blue, and this donation reflects a shared commitment to enhancing student experiences whenever possible without additional cost to our taxpayers.
Construction will begin right away. Our Athletic Director, Tony DeMare, is coordinating closely with coaches to ensure that practices and scheduling remain uninterrupted throughout the process. We are hopeful that the new field will be ready in time for our first home football game on August 29, but there is a chance the work may not be completed by then. If a location change is necessary, we’ll communicate those details with families as soon as possible.
We’re incredibly grateful for this generous investment in our students, our programs, and our district. Thank you for your continued support; we can’t wait to see our Wildcats take the field this fall!

Dear Families and Staff,
We want to let you know that there will be fire alarm testing at Oxford Elementary School on Thursday, July 17, and Friday, July 18, beginning between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. each day.
These are only tests, and no evacuation will be required. However, the alarms will sound throughout the building as part of the routine system checks.
If you or your child will be at Oxford Elementary for breakfast or attending the OELC Summer Camp on either of those days, please be prepared for the brief noise and activity during the testing period.
Sincerely, Oxford Community Schools

We want to make all families and staff aware of three important school safety updates that were presented last night at the school board meeting that will go into effect for the 2025–2026 school year:
✴️ Evolv (weapons detection) technology at OMS and OHS will be upgraded to include a bag scanning system.
✴️. Clear backpacks will no longer be required for middle and high school students.
✴️. Evolv use will remain in place for after-school events when 1,000 or more people are expected.
Please check your email for more information.

Our third graders at Oxford Elementary ended their character studies unit with a “Because of Winn-Dixie” movie party! Thanks to our awesome parents, we recreated the book’s party scene with Opal's egg salad sandwiches, Otis’s pickles, Gloria Dump’s punch, and Littmus Lozenges. It was the perfect way to celebrate a story we all loved!

🎪 Cirque Amongus brought the magic to Oxford Elementary today! This special event only comes around every three years, and it was worth the wait. Every OES student had the chance to participate, learning the fundamentals of circus art - juggling, balancing, and more! For the grand finale, the entire school performed using the circus skills they learned!
We don’t have to tell you how much our students enjoyed it — just look at their faces! 😄. Huge thanks to all the volunteers who helped make today unforgettable. #WorldclassWildcats #OCSWildcats

Mr. Fletcher, currently at Clear Lake, was my son’s 4th grade teacher at OES! He made such an impact on my now 6th grade son, that my son chose to follow in Mr. Fletcher's footsteps and used his earned Paw Bucks to be a teacher for the day! Mr. Fletcher was an excellent STRIDE coach and encouraged the kids to do their best and have a little fun along the way. We appreciate all that he has done for our family and I’m proud to call him my colleague! 💙💛 Go Blue! -Paula C.
