February 14, Emergency Vehicles at OES/OELC

Dear OELC and OES Families,

This afternoon the Oxford Fire Department was called to investigate the odor of natural gas in the OELC portion of the building.  The fire department was on the scene quickly and determined the source of the odor. The gas smell was caused by a routine release of gas from the gas meters due to fluctuating pressure and dissipated quickly.  Due to the cold temperature outdoors the smell lingered in the area longer than usual. The fire chief gave the all clear for the building and any students who had been evacuated from the area where the gas odor existed were quickly allowed to return to their classrooms.
