December 20, A Gentle Reminder

Greetings! We are having a lot of fun here at Oxford Elementary School this week! Your children are exuding joy, as they learn and play together, and as we prepare for a much-deserved break over the holidays. They are especially looking forward to the snow we see coming toward the end of this week!

I just wanted to send a brief reminder to be checking in with our kids at home, emotionally. As we are dressing up for spirit days and having casual conversations together, some kids are holding heavier topics than others in their processing of previous years during this time. We also know that with respect to last year’s 11/30 tragedy, and not many holiday experiences held in school buildings a couple of years prior (pandemic), many of our kids are just beginning to build positive school memories and experiences during this time of year, and we are in full support of this.

We just want to ensure that they are getting any questions answered at home and that we are engaging any kids who may be quieter re: any possible struggles.

It is my deep honor to be serving your student(s) as their building principal. I hope rest, rejuvenation, and FUN for everyone this year.

Educationally Yours,

Jeff Brown, Principal OES
