As your child's Elementary Art teacher I strive to design an educational, creative, and nurturing art room where children are engaged in learning and inspired to express themselves. It's important to encourage students to work autonomously and explore their own unique perspectives as artists while still integrating inspiration and personal reflection. Gaining an appreciation for art and understanding its significance can help students recognize important artistic attributes that surround us every day in our world.
Our elementary art students explore many creative outlets including ceramics, drawing, painting, printmaking, paper sculptures, TAB exploration days, collaboration projects, and technology days. We incorporate a sense of community by creating collaborative artwork that hangs throughout our school buildings.
I'm most proud of introducing STEM Robots to our Wildcats! During this time, our students learn about coding, programming, and functional design while participating in exploration and play. I'm also proud to have started the Creative Cats art club for fourth and fifth grade students after school!
If I'm away from the art room you can often find me traveling and camping! I love to experience the great outdoors and explore new terrains. I am passionate about creating my own artwork at home such as scrapbooking, painting, interior design, and computer design. I have a wonderful little family that includes our old doggo, Cooper!
