Girls on the Run

Girls On the Run

Girls on the Run is a non-profit prevention program that encourages preteen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running.  The program combines training for a 5K running event with self-esteem enhancing, uplifting workouts and curriculum-based lessons on themes such as dealing with body image and the media, resisting peer pressure, making healthy decisions and contributing to the community.

This is a program for 3rd-5th grade girls.  The team will meet after school two days a week with trained and certified coaches. The season runs from the middle of March until just before Memorial Day weekend in May.

Registration will begin in the middle of January. The girls will have a meeting after Christmas break during school and come home with information that afternoon. The same info will also be emailed home to all families.
